/var/log/Wal Bass own-tone

I just noticed my bass is sounding so good to connect the audio interface directly. I tried many outboards over a few decades such as compressor, eq, tube-pre, etc, etc.
But don’t know why I just tried to connect my bass directly to my current audio interface which is RME Fireface UCX II, and realized the sound is so nice!
How come I spent so much money on that…
I know my WAL bass has the pre-amp already and it delivers a good unique tone. Maybe I just killed it for a long time…!
For the next album, I’m recording my WAL bass through just the audio interface but I don’t insert any outboards. I’m a bit shocked by the result already, that is so a comfortable tone to me.
