/var/log/And back to Cubase

Again what!? Yes… again. Why!?

I know I know! But I couldn’t notice issues until using a demo(trial) mode. Now I can explain what I’m facing the issue with Bitwig 5.2.

Some plugin won’t save the parameter sometimes

This is a big headache. If it happens always with the same plugin, I’ll use another one instead of the problematic plugin but… it occurs randamly. And, sometimes I got a problem with pluing when open the saved project file that the plugin will change something(parameter?) without any operation. Just opened, no changes, and then close the project but Bitwig gives me to save the project because of it… I never have experienced with any other DAWs.

Flickering screen

The issue is similar to the Cubase… That’s why I did move to Bitwig from Cubase but… nooo! what’s going on! I can fix it so it’s OK but I thought “why I was trying to migrate it to Bitwig then!?”. Feel so stupid. By the way, latest Cubase 13 is working very fine without a flickerring issue!

Some VST3 plugins don’t work properly

Plugin’s GUI isn’t displayed properly, and I contacted the plugin developer but they just replied me “We’ll investigate it”. And nothing any updates… By the way, it is PAID plugin, not the freeware. Then I asked Bitwig then replied me “you have to contact the 3rd plugin developer”. Nice. Who will help me now?

Seems the timeline isn’t syncing slightly

Maybe GUI issue? I don’t know but feel I’m living in 90s era.

Plugin browser is not easy to me anymore

I used to like it on Bitwig version 4. But the version 5 new browser isn’t good for me to find a plugin. I think the filter function doesn’t work properly sometimes. I’m not a plugin collector so I use a limited amount of it but the new browser gives me a little complicated even I spent around 2 months.

Conclusion!

I did renewal my Bitwig license and used around 2 months then stopped using it. Haha… I’m a long time user of Cubase(over 30 years!) and it’s totally fitting my needs but I always have the issue also with it so that’s why I tried to ditch Cubase many times. But when I tried to change another DAW, I get another issue and having more difficulty than Cubase.

I don’t blame Bitwig but I realized finally why I prefer Cubase.
