/var/log/Linux for audio

So, I’m now trying to move my compose environment from Windows to Linux because I really don’t want an OS that’s all about AI. I just want a stable workstation for making songs, and Windows might not be the best choice for that.

It’s definitely not been easy! I’ve had a lot of hassles since starting this challenge.

I’ve actually been working as a Network/Server engineer since the 90s and I’m used to Linux, BSD (mostly FreeBSD), Solaris, IRIX – all those UNIX-based systems. But this is the first time I’ve ever tried to set up an audio environment on Linux.

I really love Cubase, I’ve loved it ever since version 1 came out for Macintosh! (I don’t even call it a Mac.) If I switch to Linux, that means I have to leave Cubase and use something else like REAPER or Bitwig. That’s tough, but I really don’t like Windows and want to try something different.

hmmm… what should I do…
