I recently (and finally!) upgraded my Omnisphere to version 3.
A while ago, I just wanted to use the Atmosphere library. I already had it, but since VST3 wasn’t available, I upgraded to Omnisphere so I could run it on my Windows machine.
Now the same thing happened again…!
I used Omnisphere 1 a lot on Windows, but after switching to Mac (Apple Silicon), it stopped working because Omnisphere 1 isn’t compatible with the latest macOS. I still wanted to use it, and at first I thought about upgrading to Omnisphere 2. But honestly, it felt too pricey since all I really needed was the Atmosphere library.
Then Omnisphere 3 came out, and it looked promising so I finally upgraded to the latest version!
I also own the latest versions of HALion and Falcon. And after trying them all, I realized… maybe I didn’t even need to upgrade Omnisphere, since HALion and Falcon can almost replace it.
Anyway, now I can finally use the Atmosphere library inside the newest Omnisphere.
It feels like buying the latest game console just to play a good ol’ 8-bit classic… Haha! :p
